VISION
Evolve ways to improve our editorial and production standards in order to give the journal a front row position in journalism and mass communication academic
publishing.
MISSION STATEMENT
Constant changes in human and global affairs have necessitated the need for novel approaches to discovering and reporting the critical role of communication and the media in global human development. The Babcock Journal of Mass Communication aims to play an important role in this endeavour by publishing well-researched papers by seasoned scholars and experts, with findings that can enable individuals, organisations and governments to make policies and decisions that improve the overall global community.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Authors seeking to submit papers for publication considerations should take note of the following:
●Articles should not exceed 7,000 words and should be submitted as attachment in Microsoft format and mailed to editor@babcockjmc.com.
●Such articles should have an abstract of not more than 200 words and 5 keywords.
●Author’s details should appear ONLY on the cover page and nowhere else in the article. THE COVER PAGE SHOULD BE MAILED SEPARATELY.
●Any article submitted to BJMC is not expected to be submitted to another journal for publication considerations.
●Referencing and citation should strictly follow the 6th Edition of APA publication style.
●BJMC frowns at articles with in-text citations that do not appear in the references. Any paper with this defect would be rejected.
●Text should be 12 point, Times New Roman, and 1.5 spacing. ARTICLES SHOULD NOT EXCEED 15 PAGES, TITLE PAGE AND REFERENCE INCLUSIVE.
●Empirical articles are expected to have the tables and other illustrations related to specific research questions within the article, with the analysis and discussion beneath each. For example: Research Question one Preamble and introduction to the research question explaining the purpose of the research question. (Where space permits) Relevant tables and illustrations to the research question. (These may not necessarily be lumped together. They should be placed in proximity and relevance to the discussion so that the reader can relate the tables and illustrations to the discussion and not have to flip back and forth over several pages to connect the tables and illustrations with the analyses and discussions)
Analysis of the tables and illustrations, and detailed discussion of them in the author’s attempt at answering the research question.
Responsibility for obtaining copyright permissions on any illustrations, diagrams, texts, etc, in an accepted article, is strictly that of the author(s).
PUBLICATION FEES
●Publication fees are charged only after an article has been accepted for publication. However, authors submitting an article for publication considerations are required to pay a paper review fee of N5000 for authors in Nigeria and $20 for authors outside Nigeria. Publication fee for authors in Nigeria is N20,000 and authors outside Nigeria is $50
●Articles submitted for publication go through three stages of review, namely: Desk review, anti-plagiarism check, and blind peer review.
●An author gets one copy of the journal for each article published. Request for extra copies can be made at the cost of N3000 each for authors in Nigeria and 15USD for authors outside Nigeria.
●All payments should be made into Babcock Journal of Mass Communication, 2177098121 UBA
●BJMC would release the online version of any issue before the release of the hard copy. Where an article by more than one author is accepted for publication, all authors of such an article must pay for their extra copies when paying the publication fees.
REVIEW PROCESS
Articles submitted for publication will go through three stages of review, namely: Desk review, Anti-plagiarism check, and Double blind peer-review. Because BJMC takes academic integrity very seriously, articles that return above 15% similarity index on the Turnitin anti-plagiarism software would be rejected. Authors are advised not to run their papers on Turnitin before submission as this may increase the similarity percentage returned when we run it. This is very important.Where an article is recommended for publication by our reviewers, required corrections (whether minor or major) are expected to be THOROUGHLY, ADEQUATELY and DILIGENTLY effected by the author(s), otherwise, such articles WILL NOT BE
PUBLISHED.
