OBJECTIVES, VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT OF THE JOURNAL:

The Babcock Business & Marketing Review (BBMR) is an international Journal for disseminating information of high-quality, academic research articles examining all areas of business, marketing and entrepreneurship. Papers published in the BBMR cover theoretical, methodological and empirical studies spanning a broad range of disciplines and perspectives. The emphasis is on articles that are of the highest quality in the field of enquiry, as the journal endeavors to provide a critical forum for world class contributions which make an impact amongst stakeholders. This refereed journal is of relevance to academics, policy makers and analysts in government and business, who seek to understand areas in business, marketing and entrepreneurship by drawing upon theoretically and empirically informed evidence.

 1. Peer review policy

All BBMR manuscripts are screened initially by the Editor-in-Chief and Editor. Only those papers that meet the scientific and editorial standards, and align with the aims and scope of the BBMR, will be sent for double blind peer review, such papers for full review will be sent to at least two expert reviewers. The BBMR adheres to a rigorous double-blind reviewing policy, in which the identity of both reviewers and author(s) are always concealed from both parties.

2. Article types

The BBMR publishes original papers that contribute to knowledge base and levels of theorizing on business, marketing and entrepreneurship in all areas of endeavor. The journal considers the following types of submissions:

  • Full Research Articles: normally between 6,000 to 8,000 words.
  • Research Notes: these are shorter and less common submissions. They may, for example, cover work what is mainly empirical or thought pieces; a response to an earlier publication in the Journal; or major work in progress that deserves a wide readership.
  • Book reviews: these are commissioned by the editor but suggestions are welcome

The BBMR welcomes papers that are multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary, as well as those from traditional disciplines, such as accounting, banking and finance, economics, psychology and sociology that relate to rigorous studies of business, marketing or entrepreneurship.

3. Duration for Publication

The duration for publication will normally not exceed 6 weeks from the date of first submission.

Before publication, it is required that the author signs a publication agreement that states that the author retains copyright of the work but grants the department of business and marketing of Babcock University, the sole and exclusive right and license to publish for the full legal term of copyright.
